During and after last week’s webinar, How to win on social media, a lot of you asked how to approach social media and how icortica Social works. Here are the answers, all in one place.
Social media questions
How often should I post?
Consistency matters most, and it gets rewarded over time. On LinkedIn, going from 1 post a week to 2 to 5 significantly increases both impressions and engagement.
Most resources recommend 2 to 5 posts a week, and some go as high as 2 a day. My recommendation is 2 to 3 times a week. It’s a realistic target that won’t become a burden.
What is the best time of day to post?
It matters less than it used to, and it varies by platform. We have seen posts get ongoing engagement for days or even weeks after they were posted.
What does matter is the engagement you get right after you post, which can be impacted by time of day. Early likes and comments help your post get shown to more people.
Test different times of day and days of the week. I’ve seen surprising results on weekends. Once you get going, your data will show you what works. The most important thing is to get going.
And ask your team, especially those who sit at a computer, to like, comment on and repost your posts. It’s an easy way to give each one a boost.
What else helps my posts perform?
- Respond to comments on your posts
- Comment on other companies’ and people’s posts
- Tag other organizations or people when it makes sense
What kind of content should I post?
Content and quality matter too, so use a variety of different formats and test as you go.
Try different types of posts from products to highlighting team members to team events. Your followers want to see your work but they also like to see the team doing the work. And remember, authenticity matters more than polish.
Mix up your formats. On LinkedIn, carousels tend to perform very well, but they usually take the most time to make. Post a mix of videos, single image and text-only posts (Facebook or LinkedIn, not Instagram). Links to outside pages get penalized on LinkedIn and are not even clickable on Instagram. Put links in the comments instead.
What’s the most important thing to do?
Just get started. Your own data holds the answers, because every audience is different. Put consistency first. Then test, learn and build on what’s working.
Who is icortica Social for?
Any business looking to grow its social media presence. It doesn’t require any other integrations. Any business owner or marketer can use it.
What makes icortica Social special?
In true icortica fashion, we designed it to be 1) easy to use, 2) save you time and 3) help you improve performance. You can post to or schedule posts on multiple platforms at once. And built-in AI can help with the writing using your brand voice.
The whole team can get involved by sending content to the marketing submission portal. Some customers have run successful competitions to motivate their teams to use the QR codes and send in potential posts.
Who can submit content?
Anyone with the link or QR code. Customers, partners, event attendees, employees.
Who controls what gets published?
Marketing does. Contributions from others show up in the submission portal, where marketing reviews, edits and decides what gets posted and when.
How do I use icortica Social to create a post?
There are two ways to create a post. Either from your submission portal or marketing can start from scratch. AI can be used to help you write the copy for the post.
How much does it cost?
$99 per license per month. icortica LTV (Lifetime Value) customers get one additional license free.
How many licenses do I need?
Most businesses only need 1 or 2. Only marketing needs a license. Anyone can contribute content without a login.
